Find your ring size

Measure a ring you already wear, right on your phone or computer screen. You'll see its Indian, UK and US size, and you can send it to us on WhatsApp.

Step 1 of 2

Match a credit card

Why do this first? Screens come in many sizes, so the website can't tell how big things look on yours. Credit cards are the same size everywhere, so matching one lets the page measure your screen. That's what makes your ring size accurate in the next step. Any credit or debit card will do, and you only need to do this once on each phone or computer.

  1. Lay your phone or tablet flat. On a computer, hold the card flat against the screen.
  2. Hold the card upright and lay it over the gold shape, leaving a thin strip of gold showing above the card.
  3. Press − or + until the gold is exactly as wide as the card: no gold showing beside it, and the card not sticking out past the gold.

For the truest size

  • Measure a ring that fits the finger you're buying for, on the same hand. Fingers on your writing hand are often a little larger.
  • Thin, round bands give the best reading. For a wide band, go up half a size.
  • Fingers swell in warm weather and later in the day. If you're between two sizes, choose the larger one.
  • Don't zoom the page. If you change the zoom or switch to another phone, set up the screen again.
  • The result is accurate to about half a size. For an expensive piece, or one that must fit exactly, let us measure your finger in the shop with a ring gauge.

No ring to measure?

Visit our showroom at 32, New Negombo Road, Wattala and we'll measure your finger with a ring gauge. You don't need an appointment.

You can also measure your finger at home with a strip of paper.

Other ways to measure

You can also measure with a ruler or a strip of paper and type the number into the box below, or use our size circles. The paper strip works even if you have no ring to measure.

Measure a ring with a ruler

  1. Choose a ring that fits the finger you're measuring.
  2. Lay it flat on a ruler and measure straight across the middle, from inside edge to inside edge.
  3. Type the number of millimetres into the box below.

Wrap a paper strip around your finger

  1. Cut a strip of paper about 1 cm wide. Paper is better than string, which can stretch.
  2. Wrap it round the base of your finger: snug, but loose enough to slide over your knuckle.
  3. Mark where the end overlaps, lay the strip flat on a ruler and measure from the end to the mark.
  4. Type the number of millimetres into the box below.

Use our size circles

  1. Look at the ring size circles further down this page. Each one is the inside of a ring in one size.
  2. Lay a ring that fits on the circles: on your screen once it's set up (step 1 at the top), or on a print-out. Your size is the circle that exactly fills the inside of the ring.
  3. To print, choose 100% (“Actual size”), not “Fit to page”, and check the 5 cm line with a ruler.

Ring size circles

Each circle is the inside of a ring in one size. The number in the circle is the Indian size; below it are the inside diameter and the UK and US sizes.

On this screen the circles are only roughly real size. To measure with them, set up your screen first (step 1 at the top of the page), or print them.

  1. Print at 100% (“Actual size”). The line below must measure exactly 5 cm. If it doesn't, the circles are the wrong size.
  2. Lay a ring that fits the finger you're measuring flat on the circles.
  3. Your size is the circle whose line you can just see all the way round inside the ring, with no paper showing between the line and the ring. If you're between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Ring size chart

Indian sizes follow the chart used by the major Indian jewellers. UK and US sizes are worked out from the inside circumference, so another shop's chart may differ by half a size.
