Find your bangle size

Measure a bangle you already wear, right on your phone or computer screen. You'll see its bangle size and inches, and you can send it to us on WhatsApp.

Step 1 of 2

Match a credit card

Why do this first? Screens come in many sizes, so the website can't tell how big things look on yours. Credit cards are the same size everywhere, so matching one lets the page measure your screen. That's what makes your bangle size accurate in the next step. Any credit or debit card will do, and you only need to do this once on each phone or computer.

  1. Lay your phone or tablet flat. On a computer, hold the card flat against the screen.
  2. Hold the card upright and lay it over the gold shape, leaving a thin strip of gold showing above the card.
  3. Press − or + until the gold is exactly as wide as the card: no gold showing beside it, and the card not sticking out past the gold.

For the truest size

  • A bangle has to slide over your hand, so your size depends on your hand, not your wrist. Measure the widest part, across the knuckles, with your thumb tucked in towards your little finger, as when you put a bangle on.
  • Measure a round bangle that slips on comfortably. Openable bangles and kadas with a screw or hinge are sized by the wrist instead; message us and we'll help.
  • For a wide or heavy bangle, choose the next size up.
  • Hands are a little larger in warm weather and later in the day. If you're between two sizes, choose the larger one.
  • Don't zoom the page. If you change the zoom or switch to another phone, set up the screen again.
  • The result is accurate to about one size. For a piece that must fit exactly, let us check your size in the shop.

No bangle to measure?

Visit our showroom at 32, New Negombo Road, Wattala and we'll check your size. You don't need an appointment.

You can also measure your hand at home with a string or a strip of paper.

Other ways to measure

You can also measure with a ruler, or with a string or a strip of paper, and type the number into the box below, or use our size circles. The string or paper works even if you have no bangle to measure.

Measure a bangle with a ruler

  1. Choose a round bangle that slips on comfortably.
  2. Lay it flat on a ruler and measure straight across the middle, from inside edge to inside edge.
  3. Type the number of millimetres into the box below.

Measure your hand with a string or paper strip

  1. Bring your thumb in towards your little finger, as if you're putting on a bangle, and keep your fingers together.
  2. Wrap a string or a strip of paper about 1 cm wide round the widest part of your hand, across the knuckles. Keep it snug, not tight.
  3. Mark where the end overlaps, lay it flat on a ruler and measure from the end to the mark.
  4. Type the number of millimetres into the box below.

Use our size circles

  1. Look at the bangle size circles further down this page. Each one is the inside of a bangle in one size.
  2. Lay a bangle that fits on the circles: on a computer or tablet screen once it's set up (step 1 at the top), or on a print-out. Your size is the circle that exactly fills the inside of the bangle.
  3. To print, choose 100% (“Actual size”), not “Fit to page”, and check the 5 cm line with a ruler.

Opens your print settings. Choose “Save as PDF” to keep a copy.

Bangle size circles

swissgoldhouse.com · WhatsApp +94 77 049 5711

Each circle is the inside of a bangle in one size, from 2.2 in the middle to 3.0 on the outside. The list beside them gives each size's inside diameter and inches.

On this screen the circles are only roughly real size. To measure with them, set up your screen first (step 1 at the top of the page), or print them.

  1. Print at 100% (“Actual size”). The line below must measure exactly 5 cm. If it doesn't, the circles are the wrong size.
  2. Lay a round bangle that fits you flat on the circles, with the cross in the middle.
  3. Your size is the circle whose line you can just see all the way round inside the bangle, with no paper showing between the line and the bangle. If you're between two sizes, choose the larger one.
