The Swiss Gold House story

Built on trust, one family at a time

Swiss Gold House opened its doors in Wattala in 1997, founded on a simple promise to our neighbours: gold you can trust, at a price you can understand.

What began as a small family counter on New Negombo Road grew — quietly, by word of mouth — into a name that families return to for the moments that matter most. A daughter's wedding. A first child's ears. A gift to mark a life well lived. Over the years, the faces at our counter have become the faces of friends.

The craft has passed through the family, and with it a way of working that hasn't changed: choose the gold carefully, weigh it honestly, finish every piece by hand, and treat each customer the way we would treat our own. We are still a family shop, and we still believe that is our greatest strength.

Craftsmanship

Finished by hand, made to last

Chosen with care

Every piece begins with 22-karat (916) gold — no shortcuts, no substitutes. What you see is what you weigh.

Worked by hand

From temple bridal sets to everyday churi bangles, our designs are finished with the detail and patience the tradition deserves.

Made your way

Bring a photo or an idea and we'll craft a bespoke piece with you — a remade heirloom or a design all your own.

Purity you can trust

What "22 Karat" and "916" really mean

22-karat gold is 91.6% pure gold — and that is exactly what the number 916 stands for. The small remainder is a touch of stronger metal, because 100% pure gold is too soft to wear every day.

It is richer and warmer in colour than lighter 18-karat gold, and it is the standard Sri Lankan families rely on — for weddings, for gifts, and for gold that holds its value. Every piece we sell carries that assurance.
